Community-based Assessment
In Ready2Work, we conduct community-based assessments (CBA)—or trial job placements—to ensure the best employment fit possible. These short-term assessments give job seekers hands-on experience and allow our staff to determine what kind of training and support they may need to achieve their goals. This is also a time for employers to get a first look at potential employees. They’re able to observe the job seekers’ work ethic, work habits, and their overall ability to complete the tasks related to the desired position.
Once job seekers have identified the type of work or position they want, the assessment helps us make sure that they can function well in the new environment and enjoy the work they would be doing on a daily basis. The length of each assessment varies based on individual needs, but usually lasts between two and four weeks—with a maximum length of six weeks. The assessment allows our professionals to see if the job fits with the interests and skills of each candidate and whether or not they can:
- Handle the required responsibilities
- Adapt to the environment
- Communicate appropriately with coworkers
- Handle stress
- Learn new tasks
- Maintain necessary work stamina
Ready2Work is able to highlight the specific skills that a job requires and make sure the job seekers have the necessary training before officially beginning a position. The community-based assessments in Ready2Work allow our job coaches to create a plan for everyone and begin working on the skills they need in order to perform the job successfully.
