Community Living
In REM Ohio’s Host Home program, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live in private family homes with dedicated caregivers who we call Mentors.
REM Ohio Welcomes G&D Alternative Living
REM Ohio and our national partner, The MENTOR Network, are pleased to welcome G&D Alternative Living, which is now operating under the REM Ohio name. This addition further expands the community-based services and supports we offer to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across the state.
“The services offered by G&D Alternative Living align perfectly with the supports provided by REM Ohio,” said Bruce Nardella, President and CEO of The MENTOR Network. “We are excited to have the opportunity to expand our services to additional individuals in new communities.”
G&D Alternative Living joins REM Ohio with more than 30 years of experience delivering quality-of-life-enhancing services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Serving Clermont and Brown Counties, G&D’s community-based group homes—now operating as REM Ohio—serve four to eight people in a supervised setting with an emphasis on personal choice, dignity and community participation.
They also operate a day program that provides individuals an opportunity to be participants in the community though a regular schedule of outings, arts & crafts, and skill building.
“REM Ohio is proud to welcome G&D Alternative Living, which has a history of improving the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” REM Ohio Executive Director Jo Spargo said. “This partnership enables REM Ohio to further expand its residential services and day programs for adults throughout the state.”
