REM Ohio Awarded Three-Year CARF Accreditation

January 4, 2012
AKRON, OH
— CARF International announced that REM Ohio Inc. has been accredited for a period of three years for its community employment development, training, development, and support services.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

Carla Parker, Executive Director, comments “We are both honored and pleased to receive this highest level of agency accreditation. This accreditation enables REM Ohio and employees to expand our shared vision of innovative services and integrated employment opportunities throughout the State.”

REM Ohio is a leading human services provider with a state headquarters located in Akron, Ohio and additional locations in Akron, Cambridge, Cleveland, Toledo, Columbus, Troy, and Cincinnati. The organization has been providing services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1987 throughout the state of Ohio.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.
