Community involvement, whether through a job or other activities, is essential for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Our social programs for adults offer a wide variety of structured activities, social interaction and skill building opportunities that enrich the lives of those we serve.
Unique Programs & Activities
REM Ohio places a priority on community involvement and activities for all of the individuals we serve. Our center-based social programs provide opportunities for skill development, socialization and recreation. Each of our social programs is designed to meet a wide range of individualized skills. We provide an array of engaging activities to help individuals grow and reach their goals while developing new hobbies and interests. And we create an atmosphere that offers structure and excitement for program participants who look forward to seeing their friends and staff members each day.
Depending on an adult’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP), he or she may take part in goal-driven classes or activities involving:

Therapeutic Service & Support
Our social program staff provides personalized support and individualized training to boost individuals’ confidence and help them learn new skills. In addition, we encourage adults to participate in group activities where they can interact with other members of the social program and the community.
REM Ohio also offers active treatment and therapeutic services to individuals whose needs are more involved or those who exhibit challenging behaviors. Our center-based programs offer therapeutic services, including motor skills and social rehabilitation to help individuals learn, grow and thrive.

We offer support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and can assist you in linkage to funding sources and payment options.
